It's Karma It's Cool - Woke Up In Hollywood

The song writing talent that is Jim Styring is back with a belter. “Woke Up In Hollywood” from his latest incarnation, It’s Karma It’s Cool, is another step up in his continuing journey to pop’s pinnacle.

Following on from the EP, Hipsters and Aeroplanes, here are a dozen songs that you know are great, because when you put the album on it seems to be over in 15 minutes, and you just have to play it again. And again.

With all but one of the songs co-written with guitarist Mickey Barraclough, the pair haven’t found a winning “formula”, because each song is different. Nothing formulaic about them at all. Just great, catchy hooks all over the place.

What the songs DO have in common though, is great tunes. Just what the people want, and need these days.

A powerful band and a wonderful production. From the uplifting opener “Our Love Is An Amplifier” to the gorgeous closing track “Sunflowers”, this is a trip you NEED to take.

Having a couple of US power pop legends in the shape of Rex Broome from The Armoires, and Lannie Flowers along is an added bonus when it comes to jingling and jangling to be found on this gem.
